التاريخ : 27 / 7 / 2025
As part of its continued support for sustainable environmental transformation, the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) participated in the first stakeholder consultation workshop of the “Green Hurghada” project, held under the framework of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the tourism sector in the Northern Red Sea region.

The workshop was organized in collaboration with Mawael Environmental Consultants, the implementing partner of the SEA.

Eng. Amgad El-Houhy, Head of the Studies, Research, and Testing Sector, attended the workshop on behalf of the NREA President, representing the Authority as a key partner in the project, especially given that one of its core components is the transformation of Hurghada into a green energy model city.

During the session, Eng. El-Houhy presented several technical proposals aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the project and maximizing its environmental and social impacts in alignment with sustainable development goals.

NREA’s participation reaffirms its leading role in supporting renewable energy initiatives across Egypt and strengthening collaboration between governmental institutions, the private sector, and civil society for a more sustainable future.
