High-Level Visit to Zafarana Site… A Shared Vision for the Future of Renewable Energy 🇪🇬🇸🇩 As part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in the field of renewable energy, the Zafarana Site of the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), under the leadership of Eng. Ehab Ismail Amin, CEO of NREA, received today, Sunday, September 13, 2026, a high-level delegation from the Republic of Sudan, comprising: • Eng. Mohamed Sayed Faqeery – Minister of Urban Planning of Sudan’s Northern State • Eng. Yasser Mohamed El-Shazly – Director General of the Electricity Transmission Company, Ministry of Energy, Sudan The visit included a detailed presentation on the potential of the Zafarana Site, the stages of its development and operation, as well as NREA’s accumulated expertise in electricity generation from wind energy. This reflects the pivotal role played by NREA in supporting and developing renewable energy projects and promoting the utilization of clean energy resources. The delegation also toured the site to explore its technical and operational capabilities and expertise, in the presence of Eng. Wael Salah Taher – Head of the Operation and Maintenance Sector, and Eng. Akmal El-Houge – Director of Zafarana Site. The delegation expressed their appreciation for the technical capabilities, infrastructure, and specialized Egyptian expertise they witnessed in the fields of wind and solar energy. They emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange between Egypt and Sudan in renewable energy, and benefiting from Egypt’s leading experience in developing and harnessing clean energy resources, contributing to a more sustainable energy future.
