in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO Egypt and the Industrial Modernization Centre, IMC, Egypt under the framework of the "Egyptian Programme for Promoting Industrial Motor Efficiency " project which aims to supporting the Energy Services Companies (ESCO) market development in Egypt where NREA has been selected as the qualifying body for the qualification of ESCO companies and M&V experts in Egypt. In this regard, a consultative focus group was organized on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at NREA’s premises to discuss the proposed framework for qualifying ESCO companies and M&V service providers. The workshop was attended by many stakeholders from energy service companies operating in this field, where discussions were held on the qualification requirements and criteria, in preparation for the development of a unified system that enhances service quality and copes with the Egyptian market requirements and international standards. This comes as part of the National Energy Strategy, which aims to maximize the use of clean energy sources to increase their share of the energy mix to 42% by 2030, as well as reduce energy consumption in the industrial, residential, and commercial sectors by 18% by 2030 compared to the baseline rate of 2009/2010 which will lead to a reduction in fossil fuel consumption and a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions
