As part of the national direction towards expanding new and renewable energy projects, a consultative session was held on the strategic study for the environmental and social impact assessment of the Sidi Barrani land in Matrouh Governorate, covering an area of approximately 600 km² allocated for wind and solar energy projects to produce green hydrogen.

Hussein El-Seneiny, Assistant Secretary-General of Matrouh Governorate, representatives of the Egyptian-German Committee (GIZ), the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA), as well as the consultant responsible for preparing the study.
This step comes within the framework of the State’s commitment to integrating environmental and social dimensions into all national projects and supporting the expansion of clean energy and green hydrogen initiatives, in line with global trends towards sustainable development
