In line with Egypt’s commitment to strengthening African cooperation in the energy sector, New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) took part in the African Power Utilities Association (APUA) Conference, hosted in Cairo from 26 September to 3 October 2025. The event was held with the participation “H.E. the Minister of Electricity Dr. Mahmoud Essmat participated in the conference on behalf of the Prime Minister
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, alongside a distinguished group of African ministers, senior officials, and energy experts.
The conference served as a high-level platform to showcase successful experiences in renewable energy projects. NREA highlighted Egypt’s pioneering role in implementing large-scale solar and wind energy projects, such as the Benban Solar Park and the wind farms in the Gulf of Suez, reflecting the country’s commitment to expanding clean energy sources and reducing carbon emissions.
During its participation, NREA emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and knowledge exchange among African countries and creating wider opportunities for joint investments in sustainable energy projects, in support of sustainable development goals and energy security across the continent.
On the sidelines of the conference, NREA also participated in the accompanying exhibition, presenting its latest achievements and programs in training, capacity building, and promoting local manufacturing. The Authority’s pavilion attracted wide attention from participants and visitors alike.
