Students of the Faculty of Engineering and Renewable
Energy at the British University in Egypt Visited Zafarana Wind and Solar Energy Site – New
& Renewable Energy Authority (NREA)
The New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) welcomed a
delegation of 52 students from the Faculty of Engineering and Renewable Energy
at the British University in Egypt (BUE) on an educational field visit to the
Zafarana site, which hosts both wind and solar energy projects.
During the visit, NREA engineers delivered a detailed
presentation on the operation of wind and solar power plants, NREA’s role in
supporting clean energy projects, and the latest technologies used in the
operation and maintenance of renewable energy systems.
The visit also included a field tour inside the site, where
students explored wind turbine components, operation and control methods, in
addition to visiting the solar panel area. This provided students with valuable
hands-on exposure to the technical and operational aspects of renewable energy
projects.
This visit comes as part of NREA’s commitment to support
educational programs, offering practical training opportunities for university
students, and enhancing awareness of the important role of renewable energy in
achieving sustainable development.
